St David's Day Fun, Food and Fellowship
Saturday 1st March
Thank you to all who came along to the St David's Day Fun, Food and Fellowship on Saturday 1st March, and to all who helped. We hope you all had a good time !
The sum of £254.00 was raised for our Church funds.
Saturday 5th April
Our Spring Fair at Gig Mill turned out to be a morning to remember. The Hall was buzzing with people and customers were waiting 40 minutes before we opened up !
The Tombola sold out in no time, and so did the Cakes Stall, while the smell from the kitchen brought a host of hungry customers to purchase our sausage and bacon
At the end of the morning, the wonderful sum of £618.50 was raised : many, many thanks to all who helped and supported us in this event because it makes all the hard work worthwhile.
Murder Mystery Evening
Saturday 17th May
What a night it was on the evening of Saturday 17th May ! Murder, Mystery, Mayhem, and a Magnificent Meal...
We saw quite a lot of Tira Misu (Jane Baxter)... and Rocco Scarfacia (John Walley) had never had it so good ! Father Keith and the rest of the cast added to the chaos.
The three course Italian meal was excellent and the smart serving staff were excellent.
A splendid evening was enjoyed by all, and we raised £400 for our Church funds... supplemented by our "floozy" Tira Misu, who made a request appearance, in costume,at the Sunday Morning service in exchange for additional sponsorship !
Big thanks to all involved, and to Maureen for organising the evening.
The Downstairs Staff
Sunday Morning Visitor
Saturday 7th June
David and Barbara Clark would like to thank all who came to their Coffee Morning on Saturday 7th June.
Lots of chatting, laughter and fellowship made the time go all too fast. Thank you, both, too, David and Barbara ! The sum of £84 was raised for our Church.
Gentleman Songsters Concert
Saturday 5th July
The Gentlemen Songsters Concert with Tom and Dan - what a wonderful night we had. The Church was filled to hear the Songsters at their best : and what about the
two lads, Tom and Dan ? Such talent. Watch out - they will go far, and we are hoping to book them next year.
The magnificent sum of £1,066.22 was raised on this evening, and a cheque for 50% of the proceeds (£533.11) has been sent to the Dudley branch of Parkinsons UK.
Many thanks to everyone who contributed to this evening of great entertainment.
Saturday 9th August
The Garden Party held on August 9th was fantastic ! The sun shone, and the smell coming from the barbecue brought lots of friends coming through the gate to see
what we had on the stalls.
Can we say many, many thanks to all of the helpers who made the day go with such a swing. The wonderful total of £924.00 was raised for the support of our Church. Bless you all.
Afternoon Tea Dance
Saturday 13th September
What a splendid afternoon we had, taking Tea at The Gig Mill Ritz on Saturday 13th September.
Thank you all for coming along and enjoying the refreshments and entertainment : and also to Malcolm, for making such a super job of the menu !
Harvest Festival and Harvest Souper
Sunday 5th - Monday 6th October
A very big THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to our Harvest Festival this year, including the ladies of Bright Hour and the display in the Church from Busy Bees.
Thanks to your generosity, 5 huge boxes of foodstuffs etc have been taken to the Foodbank. Additionally, besides Fun, Food and Fellowship, the sum of £196.27 was donated at the Harvest Souper. Also, a further £82.40 was donated by those who attended the Community Tea last week.
So I am pleased to tell you that the magnificent sum of £278.67 is being sent to All We Can (formerly Methodist Relief & Development Fund). Thank you all once again !
Saturday 11th October
The Coffee Morning at John and Melva's house on Saturday 11th October was a great success. Friends bought lots to buy and sell, and the raffle was a lot of fun -
especially when the same friends picked out each others' tickets !
The sum of £106 was raised for our Church funds. A big thank you to John and Melva for such a fun and successful morning !
Barn Dance with Eve
Friday 7th November
Many thanks to all who came to the Barn Dance on Friday ! We hope your legs aren't too tired from all the dancing, or voices too hoarse from the shouting !
Thanks to Eve for skillfully guiding us through our paces and for the brilliant kitchen staff for the much needed refreshments. The excellent sum of £207 was raised for our Church funds.
Operation Christmas Child
Sunday 9th November
What a sight the colourful shoeboxes were! Over 70 decorated boxes, filled with Christmas presents for those children who need them most.
Thanks to all of you who worked so hard to decorate and fill the shoeboxes this year!
