Coffee Morning in aid of Burkina Faso
5th February 2011
The first of the Coffee Mornings for 2011 was a brilliant success ! Coffee and cakes were very much appreciated, and the Bring And Buy stall and raffle was held in aid of the Burkina Faso Project. Funds raised by churches in Shepton Mallet and Stourbridge are to be tripled by the EU to help relieve hunger and poverty in Burkina Faso : on the day, we raised £275 ! Well done, everyone !
Evening of Fun, Food and Fellowship
18th March 2011
Have you stopped laughing yet, after the Fun, Fellowship and Food Night ? Did we have a super night ? Yes ! It was a hard job to decide which game won the laughter vote - Horses, Cards or The Stripper ? A great night was had by all. Thanks to all who came - £261.74 was raised for the Church.
16th April 2011
The Easter Brunch on 16th April was a great fellowship morning ! Many, many thanks to all who came and joined in, buying cakes, craft items, your Spring outfit on the New Stall and tickets on the Choc Tombola. The kitchen was busy, with bacon and sausages flying out of the hatch… Thank you to all the helpers for your hard work, which made in a very successful morning : the sum of £559.50 was banked for our Church funds.
Severn Valley Railway Trip
30th June 2011
A band of Gig Mill folk spent a splendid day out on the Severn Valley Railway, travelling from the terminus at Kidderminster to the Railway Museum at Bewdley. There was a Wartime theme centred around the railway, with soldiers in uniform, sandbags and unexploded bombs in evidence ! A trip to the Kidderminster Railway Museum topped off a brilliant day.
Here are some pictures of the day.
13th August 2011
Delia and John would like to thank all the people who came to the Garden Party !
It turned out to be a Super Day - all the ice cream sold out, cakes flew off the trays, the tombola did a roaring trade, and friends stocked up on birthday cards. Jane Baxter, our waitress, was running up and down the garden with cream teas, and Rosie and Michael, with help from Elizabeth, were kept very busy selling the wonderful veg ! The amazing sum of £900 was raised !
Many, many thanks to all the people who helped, gave goods, donations of money, and came to support us.
Concert with The Short Heath Singers
10th September 2011
The concert by the Short Heath Singers on Saturday 10th September was an evening to remember ! We were entertained by music, singing and poems - a group of friends so talented that we will certainly be asking them back. Thank you to all who came and supported them, and to the fund-raising team.
19th September 2011
A big "THANK YOU !" to everyone who supported our Harvest Souper on Monday 19th September - it was a great evening of fun, food and fellowship !
We all raised the magnificent sum of £202, which will be sent to the Methodist Development and Relief Fund Africa Appeal.
15th October 2011
The Autumn Fair on Saturday 15th October was a great success - all the stalls were kept busy selling their goods, the cakes sold out in no time, and the tombola had them queuing up for a go !
Many, many thanks for all who helped beforehand, and on the day, when the sum of £403 was raised.
Old Time Music Hall
11th November 2011
The Old Time Music Hall evening, held on Friday 11th November, was a great success, with sing-a-longs, an audience dressed in authentic Good Old Days costumes and an array of talented turns to amuse and entertain.

Operation Christmas Child
20th November 2011
Many thanks to everyone for making up boxes and contributing contents to this Christmas's Shoebox Appeal on Sunday 20th November : the colourful wall of boxes
looked magnificent and there were around 70 shoeboxes all told, which is an excellent result.
And when the children's stall of biscuits and cakes opened for Children In Need, there was such a rush of customers that a splendid grand total of £100 was raised !
