The concert given on Saturday 4th July by the Gentlemen Songsters was a resounding success. One Hundred and Twenty sat down to tea before being entertained : the Music and Song filled the Church. Our thanks to the choir and soloists for an evening never to be forgotten. The super sum… wait for it… of £765.50 was raised for the Renovation Fund. Many, many thanks to all those who helped.

15th August 2009
Delia and John Page write :
"Many, many thanks to all who came, or helped in any way, making the Garden Party a sunny afternoon to remember. The lady in a Blue Hat - Sheila, a friend and neighbour of Joan Brookes – won the judges' vote for the best hat, and the lucky programme was Doreen Jellyman's. All the stalls were very busy, cream teas were enjoyed by all, and the super sum of £522.11 was raised for our Church's funds. Thank you for your support !"
4th September 2009
The Skittles Evening held on Friday 4th September was a very successful and popular evening, and the Faggots 'n' Peas and Ploughman's Lunches were delicious. Thanks to Jane, our scorer, and Delia and her team for putting on another enjoyable event !
The Loch Ness Marathon
4th October 2009
Thanks to everyone who sponsored this site's webmaster, Malcolm Jeffrey, who ran the 26 miles and 385 yards of his 76th Marathon along the South bank of Loch Ness on Sunday 4th October. The sum of £300 has been raised in aid of Gig Mill's renovation fund.
Samaritan's Purse Appeal
Hazel Baker would like to thank all members and friends of Gig Mill who donated a Shoebox for the very worthwhile cause of the Samaritan's Purse / Operation Christmas Child. This year there were 103 boxes taken to the warehouse to await transportation. A fantastic achievement ! Many thanks also to our friends at Oriel House who also contributed to this cause.
5th November 2009
The Bonfire Night on Thursday 5th November was a great success – the fire was still alight three days later ! All who were able to come enjoyed a good time, good fellowship… and the hot dogs, beefburgers and soup ! The grand sum of £251.75 was raised for Church Funds.
Peggy Broadhead sends this message from the Handicraft Group : During the year 2009, the Handicraft Group raised £300 for Mary Stevens' Hospice, £100 for the Komera Project in Rwanda, and £75 for Church Funds. Proceeds from the hand made Cards that are now for sale will be going to Church Funds.
