The Autumn Fair on Saturday 11th November was a grand success, with all stalls kept busy selling their goods throughout the day. Thanks to all of our hard-working Stallholders, and to all of their generous Customers too, who helped raise £480.80 for our Church funds.
Samaritan's Purse Christmas Appeal
This Christmas, Gig Mill are responding to the Samaritanís Purse Christmas Appeal : we fill shoe boxes with appropriate presents for boys or girls, decorate them with wrapping paper, and they are collected and distributed to children around the world whose lives are less fortunate than our own. 65 shoeboxes were donated by Gig Mill this year and given to children around the world in time for Christmas.
The Handicraft Group
The Handicraft Group raised £420 during 2006. £200 has been donated to Mary Stevens Hospice, and £220 to Church Funds. £75 was raised from the sale of Chrismon Tree Christmas cards, and is included in the total. Group Members would like to thank all who have supported them throughout the year.
Thanks to Peggy Broadhead and her talented Handicrafters for this update.
This Christmasí Send-A-Cow Appeal, where Church members make a donation from the money saved by not buying many individual Christmas Cards, raised a grand total of £391.31.
Send-A-Cow is a Christian organisation which gives direct, practical help to poor farmers in Africa by providing them with livestock such as cows, pigs, goats and poultry as well as training and veterinary advice.
