Gig Mill Church is very
fortunate and proud to have had a Choir performing ever since the new
building was opened in 1932. Under the direction of Gig Mill's
Organist and Choirmaster, John Walley, our choir is one of the few
that still exists within the 10 churches of the Stourbridge and
Brierley Hill Circuit, and sings an Introit and Anthem at every
Sunday evening service. We also perform two special works at Easter
and Christmas, and organise a carol-singing evening 'round the
houses' in mid-December to raise money for the National Children's
Home.
We meet in the Sunday
School Hall on Thursday evenings at 7:45pm for rehearsals. The
present choir has 19 members - 14 ladies and 5 men : we are therefore
short of male singers, and we extend a warm welcome to any men who
would like to sing church music on a regular basis.
If you would like to
know more, please speak to John Walley any Sunday !
